Language learning for all (Chinese, Arabic) – On-line seminar

This 6-month program is comprised of 2 concurrent sections:
Section 1: Introduction to the Chinese language
Section 2: Introduction to the Arabic language
Each student will be able to attend from 1 to 2 languages and after they successfully complete the program they will be awarded a certification on the chosen language(s). The aim of the program is the initial contact of students (regardless of their educational/professional/academic background) with Eastern languages in their standard form, in a simple, comprehensible and pluralistic manner. This program includes language learning approximately up to the A1+ in one to two languages: Chinese, Arabic (each student will be able to choose from one up to two languages). Apart from the introduction to the structure of each
language, students will also be introduced to the writing system that each language makes use, the cultural elements that emerge from studying these languages as well as the connections between each of these languages and Greek (mostly in the form of loaning). Upon completion of the program, besides the training certification, which is not official, students will optionally be able to take part in language examinations of A1+ (e.g. by the University of Thessaly or Piraeus)
and will be able to use the language(s) they attended for academic, researching or even professional purposes.
