The main aim of the proposed educational program is to provide the educators with different “readings” of the Holocaust. Thus they will be able to decode and understand this multi-layered historical trauma. The engagement with variable ethnographic scenaria aims to provide the educators with the necessary knowledge and moreover to be able to use and mobilize it in the classroom. Moreover the connection between this seminar and secondary (mainly) education is at the core of this program. In order to reflect upon this “locus of memory” the art of cinema is treated as the main methodological tool. Several movies related to the Shoah are going to be used as case studies, anthropological reflections and starting points for the creation of educational scenaria in the classroom . The program aims also to mobilize other educational scenaria related to Holocaust museums. These museums are considered as museums that narrate a “difficult memory”. Understanding the logic of the Shoah museums and exhibitions could lead to a more concrete understanding of traumatized history that can enrich teaching agendas.
The program is taught in Greek.
